Great discount. outstanding integrated amplifier, bnib. the box was opened solely for photography. list price is 15,000 gbp. no trade-in offers, please. international buyers can benefit from vat reduction. shipping cost will be added to the asking price.
At £8,500, this sits a touch above the £7,956 median and just over the £8,019 75th percentile for recent UK comparables, so it reads as ambitious rather than outrageous. It is not a bargain, but it is close enough to the upper end that condition and provenance matter more than shaving a little off the headline price.
The i-188 is well regarded for refined control, scale, and an easy, unforced presentation that suits revealing speakers and serious systems. If it is genuinely clean, properly serviced, and complete with remote and original packaging, it can still be a smart buy for someone chasing this level of integrated rather than piecing together separates.

Aavik Acoustics, a Danish ultra-high-end audio brand, emerged from the visionary partnership of founders Lars Kristensen and Michael Børresen, who first collaborated over two decades ago. These industry veterans established Aavik alongside sister brands Ansuz, Børresen, and Axxess under the Audio Group Denmark umbrella in late 2020, sharing a unified philosophy rooted in noise reduction, signal purity, and lifelike musical flow. The name Aavik, evoking a "small bay" in Danish, embodies this pursuit of clarity and natural dynamics.
The brand specializes in premium electronics, including integrated and power amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, phono stages, and streamers, all engineered with cutting-edge techniques like active Tesla coils and analog dither circuits to conquer electronic and mechanical noise. Available in escalating tiers—180, 280, and 580 series—each level advances construction and sonic refinement, prioritizing silence as the foundation for authentic sound reproduction. Handmade in Denmark, these components eschew speakers, headphones, or turntables, focusing instead on amplification and digital playback mastery.
Positioned firmly in the ultra-high-end market, Aavik commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its black-velvet backgrounds, explosive dynamics, and uncolored musicality, often defying conventional engineering norms. Reviewers praise its entry-level 180 line for setting lofty benchmarks, while top models like the I-588 deliver experiential immersion that transcends mere listening, cementing Aavik's status as a boutique leader in Danish high-end precision.
