KEF Kit Transmission Line Monitor Floorstanding Loudspeakers Here I have a pair of large KEF Transmission Line Monitors. Very similar to the Cambridge R50 design. These were kits by Wilmslow Audio in the UK with DIY cabinets to correct specification. Very heavy construction, and fantastic sound. If you are thinking KEF Concerto, these are far superior in every way. Amazing bass, imaging, and detail. Cosmetically in not so good condition with many dents, and scratches, with some laminate missing. Structurally perfect. New grille cloths. These are voiced to listen with grilles on. All drivers in
Fair ask: A$800 looks broadly in line for a used KEF Kit 3 in good condition, and it’s not priced like a bargain-basement fire sale. Without a tighter model ID or recent sold comps, I’d treat it as a sensible mid-market ask rather than a steal.
What makes it worth a look is KEF’s usual strength: clean imaging, a coherent midrange, and easy placement compared with many speakers in the class. If the cabinets are tidy, the drivers are original, and it includes grilles/stands or other accessories, this is the sort of used buy that can give a lot of performance for the money. At this price, just confirm all units are working quietly and the surrounds and terminals are in good shape.
