Is this the right SL-1210 Mk? At US$1,249, it’s above the 75th percentile of your recent comps, so this reads as ambitious rather than fair value. Against a median of US$967 and a 25th percentile of US$859, the ask is a meaningful premium; I’d want something genuinely special to justify it.
What keeps it interesting is the deck itself: these Technics direct-drive tables are prized for rock-solid speed, strong build, and long-term serviceability, so a clean example can still be a very sensible buy. If this one includes the right dust cover, headshell, tonearm parts, or a notably original/untouched history, that helps; if not, I’d expect negotiation room or I’d keep looking unless the condition is exceptional.
