This is a good buy rather than a bargain-basement steal: at €175, it sits comfortably below the €197 25th percentile and well under the €221 median for recent comparable listings. It’s not overpriced, and by the local database it lands in the lower end of the market, which makes it attractive if the unit is clean and fully functional.
The timing is fine because this is an older-generation sub where condition matters more than chasing the latest model. Teufel’s big passive subs are generally valued for solid low-end output and easy integration in a home theater or music setup, so a healthy example can still punch above its price. At €175, I’d view it as a sensible pickup, especially if the driver is intact, the amp plate is quiet, and any original cable or paperwork is included.

Teufel is a German audio brand with roots in Berlin, where it was founded in 1979 by Carl Teufel. Emerging during the heyday of home hi-fi enthusiasm, the company built its heritage on engineering-driven innovation, initially focusing on custom speaker designs that prioritized precision and dynamic sound reproduction for discerning listeners.
The brand excels in active speakers and soundbars, alongside wireless multi-room systems, headphones, and portable Bluetooth options. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, Teufel emphasizes integrated solutions with built-in amplification and app-controlled streaming, catering to modern home entertainment setups.
Positioned as a mid-tier contender with premium aspirations, Teufel enjoys a strong reputation in Europe for delivering high-value performance—bold bass, spacious imaging, and robust build quality—that punches above its price point. It appeals to knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end excess, holding a solid niche in the competitive consumer audio market.
