This is a late-2010s 5.1 receiver, so timing matters mostly in the sense that it’s old-school AV gear rather than a current-format hub. At €150, it looks fair-to-good rather than cheap, with the used market clustering around roughly €150-€170 and some active listings sitting a touch above that.
What makes it worthwhile is that Yamaha’s HTR line is typically solid, uncomplicated, and dependable for basic home theater or TV audio duties, with enough HDMI and legacy inputs to suit mixed systems. In excellent condition, it’s a sensible buy if you want a clean, competent receiver without paying for newer bells and whistles. The main caveat is feature age: no network streaming-era conveniences, so the value rests on condition, remote, and included setup accessories being complete.
