Monster is an American audio brand founded in 1979 in San Francisco by Noel Lee, an engineer and music enthusiast who started the company by developing higher-performance speaker cable. That origin story still defines the brand: Monster built its name in the early cable era by arguing that better materials and construction could make a real audible difference, especially in home hi-fi and AV setups.

Today, Monster is best known less for traditional audiophile separates and more for consumer audio accessories and connected gear. Its lineup has included audio and HDMI cables, power products, gaming accessories, headphones, speakers, and assorted home-entertainment accessories. It is not primarily a maker of amplifiers, turntables, or DACs.
