Seller's Description

Etymotic EVO Headphones - In Ear Monitors Etymotic EVO Multi-Driver In-Ear Monitors   I purchased these last January from Addicted to Audio at a great 50% off price.  They still have them for that price hence why I've listed these a bit less at a third of their RRP.     This was my first foray into IEMs and the performance on the EVOs is incredible.  So detailed and spacious, they're very impressive  Not bright at all, very natural and with excellent bass.  However I've just found that they are sitting in the box unused as I still prefer the fit and feel of my over-ear cans so I'm moving them

About Etymotic

# Etymotic

Founded in 1983 by Dr. Mead Killion and Edwin DeVilbiss, Etymotic emerged from deep roots in acoustic research and the hearing aid industry. The company's name—derived from Greek, meaning "true to the ear"—reflects its engineering-driven philosophy. Headquartered in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Etymotic is now part of Lucid Audio, a privately held parent company. The brand pioneered insert earphones in 1984, initially developed as diagnostic instruments for hearing assessment and auditory research before transitioning to consumer markets.

Etymotic's product portfolio centers on precision earphones and in-ear monitors, establishing the company as a specialist rather than a generalist audio manufacturer. Beyond consumer earphones, the brand produces hearing protection, personal sound amplifiers, and professional-grade insert earphones for audiometry and speech-in-noise testing. The 1991 release of the ER4S and ER4B marked a watershed moment, introducing the first commercially available universal-fit in-ear monitor to the world. The company has maintained a singular focus on single-driver earphone design while competitors embraced multi-driver configurations.

Etymotic occupies a respected niche within the audiophile and professional audio communities. The brand is recognized for uncompromising sound quality and clinical accuracy rather than mass-market appeal, positioning itself as a high-fidelity specialist. Its reputation rests on rigorous acoustic engineering, medical-grade heritage, and a loyal following among musicians, audio engineers, and discerning listeners who prioritize transparency and precision over consumer-friendly aesthetics or marketing hype.
