These are early Krell pure class A amps. They are 160 watts per channel at 8 ohms but double all the way down to 1280 watts per channel at 1 ohm. Since they are pure class A they get very hot but have a wonderful warm sound to them thats very different than later very articulate KSA/MDA Krell amps. These are an early model with the gold Emblems. They only have RCA inputs. They are all original and untouched and work great. unlike newer Krell amps, the Service Manual foe these is available to the public along their simple design makes them more easily serviced. These are part of my Krell collection located in Pensacola Florida. I will demo for serious buyers. I hate to ship them but will at the buyers expense.
A Krell KMA-160 is one of those old-school Class A monoblocks that still has real cachet with serious system builders. At US$3,275 for the pair, this looks fair to slightly strong rather than a bargain; I wouldn’t call it a steal unless the condition is excellent and it’s a complete, recently serviced set.
