Seller's Description

Hello. For sale: a nice pair of Sonus Faber speakers. I bought them three years ago; they are in excellent condition and come with the original boxes and accessories. They work perfectly. Considering their age, I would rate their condition as very good. I can deliver them, or they can be collected in person.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This listing for used Sonus faber GRAND speakers at £1,200 is a fair deal, sitting just £12 above the median of £1,188 derived from three recent GBP comparable listings, well within the typical range of £1,009 to £1,206. It is not a bargain, but it is certainly not overpriced; the price aligns closely with what the market is currently asking for this model in good condition.

The GRAND (Grand Piano Home) is a beloved, discontinued Italian two-way floorstander known for its warm, elegant midrange and exquisite woodworking, offering a very "European" sound that prioritizes musicality over aggressive sparkle. Since these ceased production around 2006, finding them in good condition with original crates is a genuine opportunity for enthusiasts seeking refined, non-fatiguing audio without new-model premiums. At £1,200, this represents solid value for a well-regarded vintage speaker that still competes with modern designs in tonal richness.

About Sonus faber

Sonus faber was founded in 1983 by Franco Serblin in Vicenza, Italy, emerging from a singular vision to create loudspeakers of superior musical quality using natural materials and refined design. The company's name, Latin for "handcrafted sound," encapsulates its foundational philosophy. Serblin's early work—including the iconic Snail prototype inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's sketches—established the brand's commitment to marrying acoustic performance with sculptural aesthetics. The company's Italian heritage remains central to its identity, with production continuing in Vicenza for over four decades.

Sonus faber specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, a focused approach that has defined its market position. The brand is renowned for handcrafted wooden cabinets, violin-inspired industrial design, and signature model lines including the Guarneri Homage, Amati, Stradivari, and Aida. Early designs featured Kevlar woofers and silk-dome tweeters, though solid-wood construction became the defining material signature. Each speaker is treated as a musical instrument rather than mere audio equipment, reflecting the company's artisanal manufacturing ethos.

Sonus faber occupies the premium high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors worldwide. The brand's reputation rests on uncompromising craftsmanship, luxury materials, and the integration of traditional Italian design principles with contemporary audio technology. Its positioning appeals to listeners who view speakers as both functional components and interior design statements—a niche that has sustained the company's prestige and premium pricing across its four-decade history.
