For parts, €250 is ambitious for a TC-204SD. This is a mid-1970s Sony export deck, and the market for a non-working example is usually anchored by restoration value rather than collector premiums; for a parts unit, I’d want it notably below a working price, not at it. The listed price only really makes sense if it’s unusually complete, cosmetically excellent, or includes hard-to-find extras.
The upside is that these old Sony two-head decks have genuine charm: solid build, simple transport, and enough vintage appeal to be worth saving if the case, knobs, and mechanism are intact. As a parts donor, the main value is in salvageable cosmetics and transport components, so check for seized mechanism, missing head covers, cracked plastics, and whether the reel table and belts are present.
