Moon by Simaudio traces its roots to 1980, when Victor Sima, an Israeli émigré and qualified audio engineer, founded Sima Electronique in Canada with a deliberate mission to craft superior-sounding products at accessible prices. Initially targeting professionals, the brand—later renamed Simaudio—quickly captivated audiophiles for its sonic excellence and value. Sima retired in 1994, selling to Jean Poulin, whose leadership propelled the evolution into the premium MOON series, building on successes like the Celeste line and in-house innovations from their Quebec facilities.
The company specializes in high-performance electronics, excelling in amplifiers, integrated systems, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and digital converters such as DACs. All products undergo meticulous hand-assembly, in-house chassis machining, and rigorous burn-in testing in Montreal-area factories, emphasizing precision engineering over mass production. While not venturing into speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables, MOON's lineup—from reference-grade flagships to the more approachable "1" series—delivers trickle-down technology for broad appeal.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Moon by Simaudio commands respect as a boutique Canadian powerhouse, blending audiophile purity with user-friendly design. Privately held and exported to 45 countries, it rejects esoteric tweaks in favor of natural, detailed sound that invites music lovers to truly immerse themselves, sustaining vibrant success without compromising its heritage of engineering excellence.
