Seller's Description

Aurum Cantus Leisure 2 SE Bookshelf Loudspeakers I recently grabbed these from storage at my father’s place with a view to using them in a second system.  I live in an apartment and have room for only one system though so, they’re up for sale.    This model uses AC’s famous G2 ribbon tweeter. This pair has custom foils in them cut and pressed out of a lighter foil. The improvement in air and delicacy from them was very noticeable.    I rebuilt the crossovers to hardwire them, upgrade the caps and upgrade the wiring. This is something I do on all my speakers.  The speakers image incredibly well

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is an older ribbon-tweeter bookshelf from a long-discontinued line, so timing matters mainly because clean examples are getting harder to find rather than because there’s a replacement model to wait for. At A$600, the asking price looks fair-to-strong for the current used market, and if the pair is tidy and working properly it lands on the buyer-friendly side of the fence rather than feeling stretched.

What makes them worth a look is the Aurum Cantus ribbon top end: these are known for speed, air, and a very open presentation that can make vocals and small acoustic recordings sound special. They’re a well-liked monitor-sized speaker with real enthusiast appeal, so a complete, well-kept pair can be a good pickup. I’d want to confirm the ribbon tweeters are original and healthy, the surrounds and cabinets are clean, and any grilles or stands are included, but at this price those checks are routine rather than red flags.

About Aurum Cantus

Aurum Cantus is an obscure hi-fi brand with limited verifiable public information available, making a detailed editorial profile challenging without speculation. Known references appear in niche audio forums and reviews, suggesting origins likely in Asia, possibly China, though no confirmed founding year, country, or notable founder can be established from reliable sources.

The brand focuses on floorstanding loudspeakers, as evidenced by models like the V6F, V8F, and New Grand Supreme, which are praised for immersive soundstaging in user discussions. No confirmed details exist on amplifiers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables.

In the market, Aurum Cantus occupies a niche position among enthusiast speakers, often paired with midrange amps in comparative tests, appealing to hi-fi buyers seeking orchestral depth. It lacks broad recognition as high-end, mid-tier, or vintage, remaining a boutique curiosity rather than a mainstream contender.
