Seller's Description

Astell&Kern SR25 Digital Audio Player (DAP) Beautiful Hi-Res sound, playing DSD files from an sd card. It’s still my reference for sound with Thieaudio Monarch iems.   Also drives Focal Clear headphones with ease.   Ive used it recently as a streaming source, for Qobuz and Apple Music, usb straight into a DAC, rca straight into a power amp. Sounds great, and WiFi streams well too.   It’s good to have a music player independent from your phone.   Has a leather case, a high quality A&K usb c cable, plus it will come with a new unopened 512gb storage card. Condition: As New / Mint Payment Method:

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$500, this used Astell & Kern SR25 is a strong bargain compared to the typical used market, which generally sits between A$600 and A$750 for units in good condition. The original launch price was A$1,099, and even with the newer MKII model now available at that same new price, the first-gen SR25 retains enough performance value that finding it under A$550 is rare. This listing lands well below the 25th percentile for used pricing, making it an excellent deal for anyone seeking high-end portable hi-fi without the MKII markup.

The SR25 is well-regarded for its compact size, 21-hour battery life, and native DSD256 support, delivering sound quality that rivals much larger players. It’s a top choice for hi-res FLAC and DSD listeners who want portability without sacrificing fidelity. Since this is an original-owner listing in “new” condition, you’re likely getting a unit with minimal wear and all original accessories, which adds meaningful upside. At this price, it’s a clear buying opportunity for enthusiasts who value performance-per-dollar and don’t need the MKII’s replay gain feature.

About Astell & Kern

Astell&Kern emerged from South Korea's rich audio heritage, launching its first product in 2012 and officially founding as a brand in 2013 in Seoul. Rooted in the legacy of iriver's MP3 players dating back to 1999, the company—now a subsidiary of Dreamus—embodies a philosophy drawn from its name: "Astell" (Latin for star) and "Kern" (German for core), symbolizing an unrelenting pursuit of music's original sound. This origin story reflects decades of accumulated expertise in premium audio craftsmanship.

The brand focuses on high-fidelity portable and home audio solutions, excelling in digital audio players (DAPs) like the iconic AK100 and A&ultima series, alongside headphones, in-ear monitors through collaborations, home audio systems, and accessories. Their designs prioritize advanced noise reduction, proprietary amplifier architectures, and support for hi-res audio files, delivering uncompromised playback without venturing into speakers, turntables, or cables.

Positioned firmly in the high-end audiophile market, Astell&Kern commands respect among discerning listeners for its "Difference in Sound Quality"—a sensory depth that captures the emotion and space of every note. Renowned for luxury builds and cutting-edge R&D, it leads the global premium DAP segment, appealing to buyers who demand superiority over mass-market compromises.
