Seller's Description

Onkyo M-5140/P-3160/T-4120 Power Amplifier Preamplifier Tuner w/ Remote TESTED ✅Set is in excellent used condition, having been fully tested by myself personally. All components work exactly as they should, while showing no audible incongruities that I can hear while music is being played. All four speaker outputs on the amplifier play at equal volumes, every button along the face of all three components is appropriately responsive to its designated actions, and display screen on the tuner shines brightly when the component is on and running. None of the three pieces are missing any feet or any other accessories, and all power chords are void of any tears or frays along the length of their cables.Set is in great shape cosmetically, showing minimal signs of age-related wear around their exteriors. No notable points of damage inflicted along any edge or face of any components metal bonnet or front display. The only piece that shows some wear would be the amplifier, which has some light scratches on the two rack handles. Set includes the original remote control for the preamplifier, a generic AM/FM antenna, as well as two sets of stereo L/R RCAs that will be needed to connect all pieces together. See all pictures closely for details of condition, and specifications of the set.I specialize in shipping electronics such as this, and can guarantee that every precaution will be taken to ensure safe delivery of your purchase. Our Thoughts RADAR AI

US$549 is ambitious versus your used-market anchor of US$145 median and US$400 at the 75th percentile; it’s well above the normal range and would need exceptional condition or extras to justify itself.

That said, this is a respected preamp if you want a straightforward, musical analog control center: solid phono and line-stage utility, sensible ergonomics, and the kind of Yamaha/Onkyo-era build that can still make a good system feel composed. If it’s genuinely clean, fully functional, and includes the original remote/manual or box, the appeal is in getting a capable, lesser-seen piece rather than paying for a common commodity.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Onkyo

Onkyo traces its roots to postwar Japan, founded in 1946 in Osaka by Takeshi Goda, an engineer at Matsushita Electric who envisioned high-quality Japanese loudspeakers. Initially established as Osaka Denki Onkyo K.K., the company began production in 1948 with the acclaimed ED-100 speaker featuring a 25 cm driver, quickly building a reputation through LP concerts and innovative designs that resonated with audiophiles.

The brand excels in premium home audio, renowned for AV receivers, hi-fi amplifiers, and surround sound speakers that deliver exceptional clarity and power. Its portfolio spans turntables, DACs, headphones, and cables, bolstered by acquisitions like Pioneer's home electronics division in 2015, enabling cutting-edge integrations such as internet radio and high-resolution streaming.

Onkyo holds a solid mid-tier position in the hi-fi market, prized by discerning buyers for reliable performance and value rather than ultra-high-end exotica. Despite bankruptcy challenges in the late 2010s, its revival under new ownership preserves a legacy of technological innovation and pure sound enjoyment, appealing to both vintage enthusiasts and modern home cinema setups.
