Excellent condition (tape head has virtually zero wear, as it was barely used) aside from 2 flaws: CD pitch control not engaging (I haven't tried deoxit- LED indicator doesn't come on for it), and LED is a bit dim as it was at the top of a 6' rack in a room with high windows. Great cosmetic shape and includes fully working remote control, 19" rack mount. Came from the estate of a videographer who did mostly weddings etc. Sold as-is due to age, I tested it using the RCA outputs. Auto-reverse, FF/rewind/record on cassette all working perfectly, all CD functions working as well. **************************************************************** SPECS:Integrated CD Player/ Reversible Cassette Deck3-U rack mount designXLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs common for both cassette deck and CD playerXLR balanced and RCA unbalanced outputs dedicated to the CD playerSPDIF digital output from CD player±12% pitch adjustment on cassette deck±12% pitch adjustment on CD player (NOT CURRENTLY WORKING) Wireless remote control includedParallel control portCD Sync featureContinuous play function between cassette and CD19" x 5-1/4" x 10-5/8" (483 x 138.5 x 270 mm)14.1 lbs (6.6 kg)

Tascam is a Japanese professional-audio brand whose roots trace back to TEAC, founded in 1953 by the Tani brothers. The TASCAM name emerged in the late 1960s as TEAC Audio Systems Corporation, and it was formally established in 1971 as TEAC’s U.S. distribution and development arm for recorder products aimed at musicians and studios.
The brand is best known for recorders, mixers, field recorders, multitrack production units, audio interfaces, and related studio gear. Its catalogue has historically centered on practical recording tools rather than lifestyle hi-fi, with strong associations to cassette Portastudios, reel-to-reel machines, and compact pro-audio components.
In the market, Tascam sits in the pro-audio and project-studio space rather than the high-end audiophile tier. Its reputation is built on utility, durability, and value, and some vintage models have become collector favorites, but the brand is not typically positioned as a boutique or luxury hi-fi name.
