This is a seller’s market for the C-19 at US$1,500: that asking price is well above the US$625 seen on one recent private listing and above the US$1,299 ask on a more recent “excellent condition” example, so it lands on the ambitious side unless this one is exceptionally complete and freshly serviced. At minimum, I’d want proof of recent work and the exact condition of the tube stages before treating it as a clean buy.
What keeps the C-19 interesting is the hybrid Carver recipe: tube-based line, tone, and phono sections aimed at a more open, “audiophile” presentation than a typical solid-state preamp.
