Audio Design Associates, usually shortened to ADA, is an American hi-fi and custom-integration brand founded in 1977 in Westchester County, New York, by Albert G. Langella and Peter T. McKean. It grew out of a retail repair-and-installation business and became closely identified with the early custom A/V channel, including as a founding member of CEDIA. The company was later reported to have shut down in 2020, so its history is best understood as that of a significant legacy name rather than an active mainstream manufacturer.
ADA was best known for custom-install and home-theater electronics rather than a broad consumer-audio catalog. Its core products were multi-room audio systems, surround processors, power amplifiers, receivers, and control components, with an emphasis on integrated whole-home and cinema systems.
