Seller's Description

DALI Epicon 6 Floorstanding Loudspeakers I bought these (new) mid October last year ,let’s say - to scratch an itch , see if the grass is greener etc etc.    they look awesome , they sound awesome , but after much listening and Trust me soul searching , I just prefer the sound of my Marten Parker Duo’s and perhaps how they sound and work in my ( awkward shaped)room.  I wouldn’t say the Parkers are better than the E6 or vice versa - it’s I just prefer the Parkers.  I could live with either in isolation so it’s been extra hard to make a decision - it could have just easily been the Parkers.    t

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

With the Epicon 7 now the current flagship, the Epicon 6 remains a highly respected three-way floorstander, and this A$8,500 asking price is a strong bargain compared to the local used market. Ground truth from three recent AUD listings shows a median of A$8,950, with the 25th percentile at A$7,586; sitting below that 25th mark, this listing offers genuine value for a speaker that originally retailed near A$17,000–A$19,990.

The Epicon 6 is well-loved for its hybrid tweeter (ribbon + dome) delivering smooth, detailed highs, paired with wood-fibre bass drivers that avoid the “plasticky” sound of some competitors. It covers 35Hz–30kHz with 88dB sensitivity and handles 50–300W, making it versatile across amplifiers. At this price, it’s a clear buying opportunity for anyone wanting prestigious Danish performance without the new-model premium, assuming the unknown condition is verified as clean and unmodified.

About Dali

DALI, or Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, traces its roots to 1983, when Peter Lyngdorf founded the company in Denmark as the in-house speaker brand for his Hi-Fi Klubben retail chain, established three years earlier. Born in the back office of that operation, DALI quickly outgrew its origins, relocating to a dedicated factory in the small town of Nørager in 1986. There, it has since expanded fourfold, embodying Denmark's storied legacy in audio innovation—from the world's first electro-dynamic loudspeaker to a precise sonic balance that tempers robust bass with refined highs.

The brand's focus remains squarely on loudspeakers, offering nearly twenty lines spanning compact bookshelf models, floorstanders, soundbars, subwoofers, Atmos and in-wall systems, center channels, and wireless options, including portable Bluetooth variants. Each speaker is hand-assembled by a single craftsman, computer-calibrated for consistency, and often features DALI's proprietary wood-fiber cone material for a distinctive look and natural tonality. While production of entry-level models occurs at a Danish-managed facility in China, premium lines emerge from Nørager, upholding meticulous acoustic design under the Low Loss philosophy to minimize distortion.

DALI holds a commanding yet understated position as the world's second-largest cabinet speaker manufacturer, distributed in over 70 countries with undeniable audiophile credentials. Renowned for high-end performance like the MegaLine series, it spans accessible price points to premium tiers, blending Scandinavian design, reliability, and expressive dynamics. Though less heralded in North America, its global reputation among discerning buyers underscores versatile, installer-friendly excellence.
