That’s a strong deal: at £1,249, it sits below the £1,285 25th percentile and under the £1,309 median for recent GBP comps, so it’s priced ahead of the typical used market rather than merely in line with it.
The appeal here is the value proposition: Exogal’s DACs are well regarded for clean, low-noise, highly resolved digital playback, and this one should make sense for a buyer who wants a serious source component without paying midpoint market money. In good condition, with the usual cables, remote, and packaging if included, this is the sort of listing that rewards a quick decision; the main thing to verify is that the digital inputs and output stage are fully healthy, because at this price the upside is getting a refined, audiophile-grade unit for noticeably less than comparable asks.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Exogal is a small American hi-fi brand founded in 2013 in Minnesota, created by audio-industry veterans including Jim Kinne, along with former Wadia principals such as Larry Jacoby, Jeff Haagenstad, and Jan Larsen. Its heritage is strongly tied to the digital side of high-end audio rather than to mass-market consumer electronics.
The brand is best known for digital audio components, especially the Comet DAC and the Ion PowerDAC concept that pairs a DAC with a proprietary amplifier through Exogal’s own Exonet connection. Coverage also notes versioned products such as the Comet Plus and the Ion’s integrated approach, which suggests Exogal focused on compact, system-centric electronics rather than speakers, turntables, or cables.
In market terms, Exogal sits in the high-end niche boutique segment, with pricing that was described as moderate to upper-tier within serious audiophile competition. Reviews generally positioned the brand as innovative and technically ambitious, appealing to buyers who want a forward-looking digital front end or an all-in-one high-performance solution rather than a broad product catalogue. Its profile is not that of a vintage-collector brand; it is a specialist, modern electronics maker with a distinctly engineered, boutique identity.
