So this is not a bargain-bin price, but it can still be fair if the pair is complete, healthy, and especially if the cabinets are original and tidy.
The appeal here is the usual Coral magic: a lively, highly resolving Japanese full-range driver with strong following, good efficiency, and the kind of direct, open presentation that makes small ensemble, vocal, and acoustic music click. For a buyer, the big upside is originality and condition — clean cones, matched pair behavior, and any proof they’ve been stored carefully matter more than cosmetics. At this level, I’d want to verify no voice-coil rub, no repairs, and whether the listing includes the full pair and any original parts.

Coral was a Japanese audio brand founded in 1968 in Tokyo, and it is generally traced to Fukuyo Sound Co., Ltd. as an earlier company name or predecessor. The brand was active under the Coral Audio Corp. name in Japan and appears to have faded out by the 1980s, which is why much of what survives today is discussed in vintage-audio circles.
Coral is best known for loudspeakers and speaker drivers, especially full-range units, kit speakers, and a wide range of replacement or OEM drivers used by other manufacturers. The company also produced complete speaker systems, including the better-known SA-series models, but its reputation rests more on transducers and drivers than on amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or headphones.
