Compared with a clean used direct-drive Denon at this level, US$584 is ambitious rather than a bargain: recent used examples of this model have shown up around US$119–US$187 in Europe/U.S. listings, with one restored unit at US$175 and another used one around US$115 equivalent, so this asking price sits well above the normal range. That makes it a hard buy unless it includes something unusually valuable or the condition is exceptionally strong.
What still makes it attractive is the DP-21F’s appeal to enthusiasts: it’s a quartz-locked, fully automatic Denon with low-mass arm design and the kind of convenience and speed stability that made these popular in the first place. If it’s genuinely original, fully working, and includes a good cartridge, dust cover, and a fresh service history, those are the only things that might justify stretching. Otherwise, at this price you should expect near-mint presentation and documented maintenance, not just a standard used deck.
