Recent used examples I can verify sit around £392 for a serviced, recapped amp and roughly £330-£350 equivalent for other serviced/very good listings, so this asking price is above the usual band rather than a fair-market hit.
It’s a worthwhile buy when you want a solid vintage Rotel with 40W per channel, a sensible, listenable presentation, and the build quality that made this line so popular. The upside is strongest if it’s genuinely original, tidy, and fully working with no scratchy controls or relay issues; but at this level, you want proof of service history, not just “powers on.” If it’s clean inside and the cosmetics are strong, the premium can be justified, but without that, I’d want a lower number.
