Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At €70, this is a strong deal versus the current used market: it sits just under the €71 25th percentile and below the €73 median for recent comparable EUR listings, so it’s priced on the buyer-friendly side rather than merely fair. For a well-known studio headphone that usually sells materially higher when used, that’s a nice entry point.

The appeal is straightforward: the sound is a classic—airy, spacious, and lively, with the open-back presentation that makes it a favorite for long listening and mixing at home. If the pads, headband, and cable are intact and the drivers are healthy, a clean example at this price is an easy one to like. For a good-condition pair, I’d treat this as a buy-now listing rather than something to haggle over.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Beyerdynamic

Beyerdynamic traces its roots to 1924 Berlin, where engineer Eugen Beyer founded Elektrotechnische Fabrik Eugen Beyer to produce cinema loudspeakers for the dawn of sound films. Born in St. Petersburg in 1903, Beyer relocated amid the Russian Revolution, pioneering dynamic drivers that defined early audio reproduction. Post-World War II destruction forced a rebuild in Heilbronn in 1948, with his son Fred R. Beyer steering the family-owned firm through decades of innovation until its 2025 acquisition by China's Cosonic Intelligent, marking the end of a century-long German heritage.

The brand excels in headphones and microphones, launching the DT 48 in 1937 as the world's first dynamic headphones—a staple for sound engineers until 2012. It expanded into wireless systems, conference tech, and professional monitoring gear, serving studios, broadcast, film, and now gaming. While early efforts included amplifiers and loudspeakers, Beyerdynamic prioritizes transducers over consumer amps, DACs, turntables, speakers, or cables.

Renowned for durable, reference-grade professional audio, Beyerdynamic occupies a solid mid-to-high-end niche, blending accessible pricing with studio precision that appeals to creators and audiophiles. Its century of milestones—from micing royalty to touring icons—cements a reputation for reliability and sonic purity among discerning hi-fi buyers seeking tools that endure.
