EarMen’s portable DAC/amp line has a solid reputation for delivering serious sound quality in a genuinely travel-friendly package. At £190, this sits below the £203 median and inside the £158–£283 recent-used range, so it reads as a fair-to-good buy, with enough room to feel sensible rather than stretched.
What makes it appealing is the usual EarMen strength: clean, capable headphone drive and a compact battery-powered design that suits desktop, laptop, and on-the-go use without fuss. If the battery still holds charge well and it includes the right cable/accessories, that adds real value; with condition listed as unknown, I’d just want to confirm battery health and basic functionality before jumping in.

EarMen emerged from the visionary world of Serbian audio pioneer Milomir "Miki" Trosic, whose passion for perfect sound took root in the 1990s as a DJ dreaming of ideal home amplifiers and speakers. In 1998, he launched his first company, evolving it into Auris Audio in 2013—a respected European high-end brand renowned for tube amplifiers and luxury hi-fi components. EarMen was established shortly thereafter as Auris's portable-focused sister brand, carrying forward Trosic's heritage of neutral, natural sound in compact, meticulously engineered designs manufactured to exacting European standards.
The brand specializes in portable and desktop audio essentials, including USB DAC/headphone amplifiers like the Angel and CH-Amp, as well as streamers such as the Staccato and more ambitious desktop stacks like the Tradutto DAC. Unlike Auris's opulent tube amps and tonearms, EarMen emphasizes battery-powered portability with plug-and-play simplicity, expanding into serious headphone amplification for phones, computers, and hi-fi setups—delivering clean power without the bulk.
Positioned as a niche boutique contender in the high-end portable sector, EarMen earns praise for its transparent, unbiased reproduction and mature hi-fi aesthetics, bridging accessible pricing with premium European build quality. It appeals to discerning listeners seeking sonic elevation on the go or at the desk, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with marques like Chord Electronics while honoring traditional values in a mobile age.
