This is a buyer’s market for the A3.24, and £193 looks fair-to-good rather than a steal. Recent asking prices I found are around £255-£350 equivalent for used examples, with one at about £276 and another at about £350, so £193 sits comfortably below the usual range without being absurdly low.
It’s a respected older DAC because Musical Fidelity gave it proper upsampling, a solid, slightly rich-but-clean presentation, and useful inputs for a classic digital front end. For the money, the upside is getting a well-regarded standalone DAC that can still make a good transport sound more polished. The main buyer check is age-related condition: confirm all inputs work, the front-panel controls are responsive, and it locks reliably on your sources.
