Seller's Description

Contrast Audio Lens Bookshelf Loudspeakers Selling these fantastic speakers. Purchased from a fellow SNA member. With his permission and I'm plain lazy 🙂 I've usedan his words.   The Lens is the smaller brother of the Soul with the same in-house paper cone/timber phase plug mid-bass and silk tweeter, with one Mundorf cap only inside as a high pass filter for the tweeter and the same solid beech decoupled front baffle. A claimed 95 db and 16 ohm makes them great for SET amps in small to mid sized rooms, but they are not a headbangers' speaker. I have all packing so freight is no issue as I can

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Contrast Audio’s Lens sits in the “serious small monitor” camp: well above mass-market fare, with a proper RRP around A$4,500 and a used ask here at A$1,380. That makes this look strong value rather than ambitious, especially since it’s only a touch under the A$1,400 asking seen on the listing page and far below new price.

The upside is straightforward: if it’s clean and unmodified, you’re getting a respected boutique speaker at roughly a third of retail, which is where used hi-fi starts to make real sense. The main buyer checks are the usual ones for speakers of this class—cabinet condition, driver health, and whether any stands, grills, or packaging are included—but at this price the listing reads more like an opportunity than a risk.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Mundorf

Mundorf traces its roots to 1985 in Cologne, Germany, where Raimund Mundorf launched the company with a passion for hi-fi sparked in his childhood. Initially focused on high-quality crossover components for enthusiasts, it evolved from his hands-on engineering amid the Rhine region's audio heritage. Over four decades, Mundorf has grown into a global benchmark, manufacturing at its headquarters with unwavering commitment to precision craftsmanship.

The brand specializes in premium passive audio components, renowned for capacitors like the MCap, Supreme, and EVO series, alongside inductors, air-core coils such as the MCoil, and high-end NF and speaker cables. These parts emphasize superior materials—OFC copper foil, resin-soaked paper, and advanced dielectrics—to unlock exceptional clarity and fidelity in crossovers, amplifiers, and loudspeakers. While not producing complete systems like amplifiers or speakers, Mundorf's elements integrate into the world's finest builds.

Positioned firmly in the high-end niche, Mundorf commands respect among audiophiles and OEMs for its "Inner Excellence," delivering components that prioritize sonic purity over mass production. Its reputation as the condenser specialist endures, with products like the zero-ohm coils and silver-gold hybrids setting references in discerning systems worldwide.
