Offered is „FM 122 mkII“ by FM Acoustics as second-hand device from the category „Phono Amplifier“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 4698069680 ends on 14.12.2026 at 13:53 o'clock.
€6,600 is at the 75th percentile, so this is a top-of-range but still market-aligned asking price rather than a bargain. Against the €5,557 median and €5,473 25th percentile from your comps, it’s clearly ambitious relative to most recent asks, but not out of line if the unit is genuinely clean and complete.
That matters because this is a respected piece: FM Acoustics gear is prized for refinement, low-noise performance, and long-term build quality, and the 122 mkII is the kind of preamp people buy to settle in with rather than trade around. If the condition is truly good and provenance is solid, the upside is owning something rare and enduring; at this price, I’d mainly want confidence on originality, service history, and that all accessories are present.

FM Acoustics is a Swiss high-end audio brand founded in May 1973 by Manuel Huber, a notable figure in precision audio electronics development. The company has maintained its roots in Switzerland for over fifty years, specializing in research and development of audiophile-grade products. Huber’s leadership established a legacy of hand-crafted engineering that continues to define the brand’s identity in the global hi-fi market.
The brand is primarily known for its line of amplifiers, including mono power amps and integrated units, with the FM 255 series serving as a long-standing cornerstone of their offerings. While amplifiers remain their core focus, FM Acoustics also produces preamplifiers and has historically developed select DACs and cables. Their products, such as the FM 800A power amplifier introduced in 1975 and still manufactured today, exemplify their commitment to timeless design and lasting performance.
FM Acoustics occupies a niche boutique position within the ultra-high-end segment, catering to discerning audiophiles who prioritize craftsmanship over mass production. Their reputation is built on limited availability, extreme quality, and a track record of delivering some of the finest amplifiers on the planet. The brand is not mid-tier or vintage-collector focused but remains a respected, exclusive choice for those seeking top-tier Swiss audio engineering.
