I had purchased amplifier brand new, original owner. Last year I had it service, the pictures are from the actual item, as you can see, it is in excellent condition and working per original specs.
Against your own comp set, US$700 is a bit above the 75th percentile versus a median of US$650 and a 75th percentile of US$675, so this reads as ambitious rather than fair. It’s not outrageously priced, but it’s asking top-of-market money for a listing that would ideally need to justify the premium with notably better condition, provenance, or extras.
That said, this is a respected old-school stereo power amp, and the TFM-35 has a solid reputation for being a muscular, no-nonsense performer with plenty of current and good drive for real speakers. If it’s clean, original, and well cared for, there’s still meaningful upside here; I’d want to see proof it’s been serviced or at least runs quietly, since age and unknown condition matter more than with newer gear.
