Audiovector SR1 Super in mint condition. No marks or scratches. RRP £1900
At £940, this sits around the going used asking price for the SR 1 Super, not a steal but broadly fair for an intact pair in excellent condition. HiFiShark shows a like-for-like UK listing at £940, while the original recommended price was about £1,919, so this is roughly half of new pricing rather than an aggressive bargain.
It’s a worthwhile buy because the SR 1 Super is a respected, revealing standmount with Audiovector’s fast, refined presentation and the sort of openness that suits small-to-medium rooms. In excellent condition, the upside is mainly simple: a well-kept pair from a serious brand, with no obvious price penalty if the finish, grilles, and terminals are all clean and complete.

Founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1979 by Ole Klifoth, a seasoned hi-fi distributor and audio enthusiast dissatisfied with existing speakers, Audiovector embodies Danish craftsmanship and innovation. Klifoth's vision—to craft natural-sounding loudspeakers for discerning music lovers—launched with the unconventional Trapeze series, featuring asymmetrical cabinets that minimized standing waves through non-parallel surfaces. Now led by his son Mads Klifoth as CEO, this family-owned enterprise upholds a legacy of bold design choices, blending tradition with cutting-edge developments over four decades.
Audiovector specializes exclusively in high-end loudspeakers, producing both passive and active models across series like R, SR, and QR. Renowned for modular upgradeability, allowing owners to evolve systems without replacement, their speakers incorporate proprietary technologies such as rear-firing bass-midrange drivers for superior soundstaging and the Freedom Grounding System for chassis earthing. Every unit is hand-assembled in-house using premium materials, prioritizing linear dynamics, phase accuracy, and low compression for lifelike reproduction.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Audiovector commands respect among audiophiles for its exceptional build quality, innovative engineering, and worldwide acclaim. Models like the flagship R11 Arreté represent Denmark's priciest offerings, appealing to buyers seeking precision, musicality, and longevity in a niche boutique brand that defies conventions.
