Condition is unknown, so on the numbers alone this lands well above the typical used range: the asking price of US$1,725 is above the 75th percentile at US$1,303 and roughly double the median at US$882, so I’d call it ambitious rather than fair. Unless there’s exceptional originality, a recent full service, or standout provenance, it’s priced at the top end of the market.
That said, a clean MAC 1700 is a desirable piece: it has the classic McIntosh look, tuner/receiver convenience, and a reputation for strong, musical sound with real collector appeal. If it’s fully sorted and cosmetically sharp, some premium is understandable, but at this level you’d want proof of proper restoration, stable operation, and ideally complete knobs/cap/case details before leaning in.
