Timing is on your side here: this is a classic late-’90s/early-2000s statement piece, and the market has long since sorted it into the “collector-grade CD transport/display” category. Against your recent comparable EUR listings, €4,850 is well above the 75th percentile of €2,198, so this is ambitious, not fair, and not a bargain.
That said, it’s a very well-regarded design for a reason: the linear, laser-guided transport, the iconic sliding-beam mechanics, and the wall-mountable, architectural look make it one of the most distinctive B&O pieces ever made. If it’s genuinely excellent and fully serviced, the upside is mainly in condition, originality, and a complete setup; but at this level you want documentation, remote/control accessories, and proof that the transport, display, and loading mechanism are behaving perfectly.
