Even allowing for the 12-inch option and the usual UK-used premium on specialist arms, it’s still sitting well above where a clean used example normally needs to be to look compelling.
That said, the Illustrious is a seriously respected arm: lightweight, highly rigid, and known for strong timing, low coloration, and a very “sorted” presentation that can wake up a good deck. If this one is genuinely excellent, complete, and properly boxed, the value is in buying a top-tier arm that can anchor a serious vinyl setup; just make sure the 12-inch hardware, mounting parts, and counterweight setup are all present, because at this price you want a turnkey package.
