US$299 is ambitious for an XR-P9 unless it’s exceptionally complete and clean. Typical used asks I found cluster closer to about US$160–US$300, with a few looser outliers above that, so US$299 is at the high end rather than a bargain.
What keeps this interesting is the appeal of early Toshiba portable CD gear: it’s a genuinely collectible, well-regarded design and the complete package matters a lot. If this one includes the dock, battery pack, remote, and shows solid playback, it can be a satisfying buy for a collector or vintage-portable fan. At this price, I’d want strong proof of working condition and original accessories before pulling the trigger.
