A respected late-70s/early-80s receiver-era Dual, the CR 1710 is more of a solid, characterful vintage buy than a spec-sheet hero. At €90, it lands exactly on your median €90 comparable and sits above the €70 25th percentile, so this reads as fair value, not a bargain and not ambitious.
What makes it worthwhile is the usual Dual appeal: straightforward, no-nonsense receiver design, decent tuner/amp utility, and the kind of build that can still be satisfying if it’s clean and functioning properly. For a good-condition unit, the upside is mainly getting a tidy vintage piece at market price; I’d value clear photos, intact knobs, and evidence of recent use more than any rare accessory bundle here.

Dual emerged from the Black Forest region of Germany in 1907, when brothers Christian and Joseph Steidinger began manufacturing clockwork and gramophone components in St. Georgen. The company adopted its now-iconic name in 1927 after pioneering dual-mode power supplies that allowed gramophones to operate from either mains electricity or mechanical wind-up mechanisms. Dual built its reputation primarily as a turntable specialist, becoming Europe's largest turntable manufacturer by the post-war era with over 3,000 employees across multiple factories.
