The TD 165 has a strong reputation among Thorens belt-drive tables for relaxed, musical presentation and classic suspension-tuned behavior that can still be very rewarding when properly sorted. The upside is in condition and completeness: if the platter, arm, dust cover, and auto-lift/drive parts are present and healthy, this can be a satisfying long-term buy; if anything is tired or missing, the premium price leaves less room.
