Timing matters here because this is a first-generation early-’60s Scott piece, and that makes condition and originality more important than modern convenience. At US$2,385, the asking price is well above the typical used range I’d expect for a working example, which is around US$400–US$700; even strong serviced/provenance examples usually land far lower, so this is an ambitious ask rather than a fair-market buy.
That said, it’s a respected tube integrated with real vintage appeal: solid iron, classic Scott sound, and enough output to be genuinely enjoyable with efficient speakers. If this one is exceptionally original, recently restored, and documented by a known tech, the premium makes more sense; otherwise, the buyer is paying collector money, not user-grade value. For this price, I’d want proof of full service, quiet operation, and no hidden parts-missing surprises.
