The Continuum S2 is a serious high-power Jeff Rowland integrated, and A$9,000 looks fair to slightly keen, not a bargain. New pricing was around the A$12,000–A$14,000 mark depending on options, and a very clean near-new used example has recently shown up around A$7,900, so A$9,000 sits above the better-value end of the market but still within normal used territory for a desirable piece like this.
What you’re buying is the Rowland mix of authority, refinement, and load-driving grip: 400 W into 8 ohms, 800 W into 4 ohms, with balanced and bypass inputs, and a compact chassis that still feels statement-grade. It’s a worthwhile pickup if the unit is clean, fully working, and ideally includes the original remote, packaging, and any optional DAC or phono board; at this price, those extras help justify the spend, while missing them should nudge negotiation rather than kill the deal.
