Here we have a near mint condition, one owner, no pet no smoking, Luxman CL35 MK3! One of the true legends of preamps! We bought it from a long time customer of ours and were amazed with the condition, It is by far the cleanest one we have seen in 30 years! The owner gave us along with this gem, 3 OEM NOS Telefunken tubes which are now in the preamp along with 3 new JJ 12AX7's and a NOS Jan 12AU7. This beauty has been completely serviced and all factory recommended upgrades were installed. Included in the restoration are all new (higher quality) electrolytic capacitors throughout. Ultrafast soft recovery rectification. New 1% Mil-spec Dale metal film and Kiwame resistors in the power supply. The phono section's inferior sounding mylar caps were upgraded with period correct polypropelene orange drop film caps and ultra quiet metal film (non inductive) resistors. The mylar tube caps were upgraded to polypropylene and polystyrene film caps ($$$$). All the switches and potentiometers were cleaned and lubricated. 2 Dale mil spec film resistors and Orange drop caps. ( smoother) replaced slightly out of spec original units in the line stage! Lastly the owner had the wood cabinet refinished and an LED on lamp. There is a reason why these preamps are considered within the top 5 collectible audio components of all time, they sound great, they look great and when professionally serviced and upgraded as this one is, will last another 50 years or more and continue to beat the stock market as an investment. And by all accounts they were! However they did find that some improvements could be made. They then embarked on hiring one of the best audio engineers of all time the Tim De'Paravicini to improve the topology of both the line stage and especially the phono stage which he achieved with world wide success ! Please note this preamp is 100volt AC it will require a step down transformer for optimum and safe performance!
