Seller's Description

Sansui 907KX Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) SANSUI @907KX   These 907 Alphas are the best integrated that SANSUI  ever made. The 907 KX delivers a very articulate and accurate sound in presenting any genres . It's beautifully rich, smooth, detailed and  accurate.   3d imaging with a big soundstage. Separation of instruments is also very well placed. The phono stage is a dedicated circuit with high quality build too. Fully balanced with XLR inputs takes your listening to another level with minimum ground noise.   A large-sized  speaker terminal,  pure-copper chassis, tone controls/loudness

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Compared with the usual A$609 median and even the A$1,427 75th percentile, A$1,750 is ambitious for this class of used gear, though it’s not wildly out of line for a coveted Sansui flagship if it’s genuinely clean and original. Against a solid modern integrated at this price, you’re paying more for pedigree and build than for convenience or features.

What makes it worthwhile is the 907KX’s reputation for big, authoritative drive, excellent grip on difficult speakers, and that classic Sansui presentation that many buyers specifically chase. If it’s been serviced, runs quietly, and includes the right knobs/covers, the appeal is stronger still. At this price, though, I’d want clear proof of health, because older high-end Sansuis can be costly to bring back properly.

About Sansui

Sansui, a pioneering Japanese audio brand, traces its origins to 1947 when it was founded in Tokyo by brothers Sakurai and Shunichi Yamamoto. Emerging from post-war Japan, the company quickly established itself as an innovator in consumer electronics, leveraging precision engineering to craft components that rivaled Western counterparts. Its heritage is rooted in the golden era of hi-fi, where Sansui's commitment to sonic purity helped define Japan's rise as a global audio powerhouse.

The brand excelled in a broad spectrum of hi-fi categories, with particular renown for its integrated amplifiers, receivers, and tuners that delivered warm, dynamic sound. Sansui also produced acclaimed speakers, turntables, cassette decks, and later digital converters, emphasizing robust build quality and innovative features like direct-coupled circuitry for low distortion. These products catered to audiophiles seeking balanced performance across analog and early digital domains.

Today, Sansui holds a cherished position in the vintage collector market, revered for its mid-to-high-end gear from the 1970s and 1980s—icons like the AU-series amps remain sought after for their musicality and reliability. While no longer a frontline manufacturer, its legacy endures among discerning buyers restoring classics or hunting timeless performers, blending nostalgia with enduring value.
