With the 25th percentile at US$867 and the 75th percentile also at US$1,000, this is squarely a normal asking price rather than a bargain or a stretch.
That still makes it a worthwhile buy if the deck is clean and complete, because the SL-1500C is well regarded for being easy to live with: solid direct-drive stability, a built-in phono stage, and plug-and-play convenience without giving up Technics’ usual speed consistency and low-fuss reliability. At this price, the key upside is a tidy, ready-to-spin example with the dust cover, headshell, and cartridge all accounted for; if those pieces are missing or the tonearm/plinth show wear, the value drops quickly.
