At US$1,800, this is a bit ambitious for a VT60 unless it’s exceptionally clean, recently serviced, and fully documented. The used-market anchors here are all over the map, but they cluster more around roughly US$900–US$1,500 for typical examples, with one “excellent” sale at US$1,850 and older references around US$600–US$900 when condition is merely good.
That said, the VT60 is a well-regarded Audio Research tube amp: 50 watts per channel, dual-mono layout, and the sort of open, musical presentation people buy ARC for. At this price, I’d want proof of recent service, strong tube life, and no transformer or noise issues; if it’s original-owner, cosmetically tidy, and comes with a healthy tube set, the asking price becomes easier to justify.
