Fully restored by Vintage Audio Shop last April. Purchased it directly from them in June of 2025. Cosmetically I would rate it an 8. The overall chassis is rust free, no pitting. All original lettering and stencil is intact and clearly visible. There are two visible nicks in the faceplate. Power transformer and output transformers are original. Functionally, there are no issues. Full recap was done. Phono section is dead quiet and sounds great. Power tubes are nos Amperex 7591a, made in USA. Purchased these from the son of the original owner. They tested at 108% emissions and as closely matched as possible. Rectifier tube included is a Genalex Gold Lion GZ34. Phase inverter tubes are JAN Philips 6u8a from mid 80s, 12ax7 tubes in phono section are pair of vintage Fender short gray plates and JJ Ecc83s in the line section.
At US$1,075, this sits just below the comp median of US$1,113 and a touch under the US$1,094 25th percentile, so it reads as a solid buy rather than a bargain-bin steal. Against that tiny recent sample, the asking price is comfortably in the fair-to-good zone, with a bit of room left for negotiation.
That makes sense for a well-regarded vintage integrated amp like this: the LK-72 is valued for its musical, full-bodied tube sound and classic Scott build, and the market usually rewards clean, working examples. If the unit is original and properly sorted, the appeal is real; the main upside is getting one of the nicer Scott integrateds without paying above-market money. Condition matters more than usual here, so confirmation of service history, function, and cosmetic honesty is worth getting before committing.
