Like new and at A$23,500, this sits above the A$19,617 median and just over the A$23,466 75th percentile, so it’s a touch ambitious rather than a bargain. It’s not wildly out of line, but I’d want the condition, packaging, and provenance to be genuinely excellent at this level.
That said, the MA12000 is a serious all-in-one muscle amp with the McIntosh house sound: big authority, very low strain, and enough grip and refinement to anchor a high-end system for years. If it’s fully boxed and has been lightly used, the premium is easier to justify; if not, there’s not much room left for negotiation.
