Overview
Gryphon's DM-100 dual mono power amplifier provides 100W of pure class A into 8ohms. A switch on the rear panel allows for bias adjustment, which drives the output more heavily towards Class A/B to manage a wide array of speakers.
Transistors are mounted on a single, large, double-sided printed circuit board with 105 mu of copper per side. The output board is connected to the speaker terminals via a solid, gold-plated copper busbar. Gryphon's exclusive long crystal silver cable design feeds the balanced inputs.
The vertical array transformers feature extensive shielding between the primary and secondary sides, with AC power line conditioning. Four high-current bridge rectifiers, hard-wired for maximum current transfer, are used per channel, followed by a pair of 48,000 µF computer-grade RIFA capacitors. Solid copper busbars and heavy gauge wire distribute power to outputs and gain stages. The driver section has it's own 20,000 uF capacitor bank, fed from separate windings on the transformer's secondary side, connects directly to the output boards without wiring.
With the exception of the transformer shield box, all cabinet parts are made of
non-magnetic materials.

At A$7,400, this is above the rough used-market band I’d expect for a Gryphon DM100, which looks to sit more around the equivalent of about A$4,800–A$6,200 depending on condition and market. That makes the asking price ambitious rather than a bargain, unless there’s something unusually strong here: pristine provenance, recent servicing, or a genuinely scarce local example.
That said, the DM100 is a serious old-school Gryphon piece: heavy, muscular, and still admired for its authoritative class-A grip and scale. If the amp is clean, original, and fully healthy, it can still be a rewarding buy for someone chasing that big, effortless Gryphon presentation—but at this number I’d want excellent condition, proof of upkeep, and confidence that it has been checked thoroughly before paying up.
