Seller's Description

Mire pics coming within 24hrs This is one of my personal units. I had it professionally recapped. What does that mean? Every single capacitor, resistor, transistor, etc. was replaced. The power supply was rebuilt. Everything in this unit has been replaced. The old chassis had pitting and marking on it so even the entire chassis was swapped out with a better chassis which is just beautiful. The lettering is bold and clear. the Chrome is nice and clean with no scratches or dents. The filter cap Cage was replaced as well.I have the old parts to go woth the unit as proof to the work along with the receipt from my tech. The wood case is in great shape as well. There are no cracks on the face as it has been replaced as well. This is a beautiful piece. It is for pickup only!! I don't want to ship it and risk damage and I would like the buyer to see and hear it. I know I'm asking the premium price for this but it's a premium piece that is going to last many years to come. Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is an ambitious ask: at US$2,200, it sits above the US$1,800 median and also above the US$2,150 75th percentile for recent comparable listings. That does not make it unreasonable for a strong example, but it does mean the price is asking a premium rather than offering a bargain.

The appeal here is the classic McIntosh integrated formula: authoritative build, very listenable drive, and the kind of stable, warm-but-controlled presentation that still has a loyal following. If the unit is clean, fully original, and properly serviced, the premium is easier to justify; if it has service history, original knobs/cosmetics, or includes the right paperwork, that helps a lot. At this level, buyers should verify health rather than assuming it—age-related maintenance can matter on vintage Macs.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About McIntosh

McIntosh Laboratory, founded in 1949 in the United States by Frank H. McIntosh and Gordon Gow, embodies a storied heritage of American audio innovation. Originally based in Silver Spring, Maryland, before relocating to Binghamton, New York, where products are still handcrafted today, the brand emerged from a commitment to superior sound reproduction. From powering President Lyndon Johnson's inauguration to the Grateful Dead's Wall of Sound at Woodstock, McIntosh has shaped pivotal moments in music history and pop culture, earning its place as a cultural icon.

The company specializes in a comprehensive lineup of high-fidelity components, including renowned amplifiers—particularly its revered tube models for their warm, enveloping sound—along with solid-state power amps, stereo tuners, loudspeakers, turntables, music streamers, processors, and digital-to-analog converters. This breadth supports both two-channel stereo systems and multi-channel home theaters, delivering immersive experiences in music and film. Iconic blue watt meters on their gear have become globally recognized symbols of precision and power.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, McIntosh commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its uncompromising quality, luxurious build, and timeless design. Far from mid-tier or niche boutique, it stands as a premium benchmark, favored by legendary musicians and producers across decades, blending vintage allure with modern performance for those who demand the ultimate in sonic fidelity.
