Compared with a new budget dongle/DAC at this money, this used Zen DAC looks quite ambitious: A$319 sits well above the recent used median of A$160 and even above the 75th percentile of A$175. That makes it hard to call it a value buy on price alone unless there’s something exceptional bundled in.
What keeps it interesting is the Zen DAC’s reputation as an easy, musical desktop upgrade with a strong headphone stage and a very usable line-out for systems that need a simple DAC/preamp. If this is clean, from the original owner, and includes the PSU and any box/cables, it still has appeal for someone who wants the iFi sound and the convenience in one compact unit. At this asking price, though, I’d want a fuller accessory set or extra condition confidence before paying up.
