The real upside here is that these are genuinely listenable speakers with enough scale for rock, jazz, and movie use, and they’re the kind of vintage Boston model that can punch above its age when healthy. The main thing to verify is the condition of the woofers’ surrounds and whether the cabinets are original and unmolested, since age-related refoam work is the usual cost driver on these; if that’s already done and documented, the price becomes much easier to justify.
