Compared with the obvious alternative at this money—a newer entry-level integrated amp with fewer inputs and less character—A$360 is ambitious for a used Denon PMA-500AE. Against the recent AUD comps, it sits well above the 75th percentile at A$257, so this is not a bargain-price listing.
That said, the PMA-500AE is a well-liked, sensible integrated: clean, punchy, and easy to live with, with enough drive for most efficient speakers and a straightforward, no-nonsense feature set.
