US$720 is ambitious for an unknown-condition SX-3800 unless it’s been recently serviced and is exceptionally clean. Typical used examples cluster much lower, with working units around US$300-US$600 and nicer serviced examples often around US$550-US$700, so this sits at the top end of the market rather than a bargain.
That said, the SX-3800 is a desirable late-’70s/early-’80s Pioneer with the quartz-locked tuner, fluroscan display, and 60 wpc of classic silver-face charm. If the lamps, controls, and tuner are all healthy, it’s a very enjoyable receiver with real collector appeal. At this price, I’d want proof of service, clear photos of the face and lights, and confirmation that all functions are solid before calling it a buy.
