It’s not a value buy on price alone, and I’d only call it sensible if the seller can document a serious restoration, recent service, or unusually complete package.
That said, the PL-50 is a respected vintage Pioneer deck with real appeal: solid build, good speed stability when properly serviced, and the kind of straightforward, long-lived design enthusiasts like. If the cosmetic and mechanical condition truly are excellent, the upside is in buying a clean, ready-to-run example; just make sure the arm bearings, auto functions if fitted, platter speed, and dust cover are all as claimed before paying premium money.
